Description:

From Boaz Harvest Festival Website:

The annual Harvest Festival takes place in the northern Alabama town of Boaz, bringing with it two days of music, arts and crafts, and other family-friendly fun. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Beginning at 8 a.m., over 200 arts and crafts vendors will line Main Street and the Farmer's Market will be open and stocked with locally grown fresh fruit, flowers, and vegetables. Many of the shops located in the downtown area will have sidewalk sales and special offers in addition to the festivities. Live music featuring local and regional performers is also planned.

Festival goers will not want to miss the Moonpie eating and RC Cola contest on Saturday to see who can consume the most delicious cakes in a few minutes time. Additional activities include a huge antique car show with muscle cars, trucks and motorcycles and a swap meet, the Harvest Moon Midnight Run, 5K, and 1-mile Fun Run, and the Miss Harvest Festival Pageant on Saturday at 9 a.m. where a one year tuition scholarship to Snead State Community College will be awarded.

Children will be entertained throughout the day with a free inflatable play area. Rides will be available for a fee on the Euro-Bungee Jump, rock climbing wall and Thomas the Train. The Marshall County Farmers Federation will have its agriculture trailer open for tours and children can try their hand at milking a cow.
