The Slocomb Tomato Festival began in 1988 to honor and celebrate our area farmers who grow the BEST tomatoes on Planet Earth! People travel for hundreds of miles to purchase our 'maters! Really. They do. So on the third weekend of June every summer, we come together with 'maters and music and have a grand ole time. We bring in fantastic entertainment, have karaoke, enjoy a small-town parade, make sure the kids are happy with inflatables and such ... and of course have a prayer meetin' the Wednesday night before the festivities because we know that none of 'this' would be possible without God. Y'all come! We promise you'll enjoy yourself so much you'll make it an annual event, just like we do!
