The "Cotton Pickin' BBQ Cook-Off" is a KCBS sanctioned event that takes place on the third Friday and Saturday of May. Professional and Backyard cook teams fill historic downtown Hartselle with the aroma of competition barbecue. In 2011, Governor Robert Bentley proclaimed this event to be an Alabama Championship event which enables the Alabama teams to earn points for the coveted Governors Cup.

If you have a desire to taste this wonderful barbecue, join us on Saturday for the People's Choice event where for a small fee you can sample the competition "que" and vote for your favorite. The People's Choice award is presented at the awards presentation at the end of the competition.

This is a FUN event with GREAT cook teams gathering together for a weekend of fun, hard work, fellowship and competition -- Come see for yourself!!
