Description:

From Blue Light Special Art Show Website:

The Blue Light Special Art Show will be held December 13th-14th from 9-4 on Saturday and 11-4 on Sunday at Cahaba ClayWorks and Earthborn Studios located at 7575 Parkway Drive in Leedsjust up the hill from the Bass Pro Shop.

Celebrating its 26th anniversary, this unique event embraces the imperfect or flawed seconds that never see the light of commerce, as well as the best each artist has to offer. We have over 50 artists at this last-show-of-the-Christmas season. Artists that make their living selling at various art shows generally end up with pieces that have been nicked or otherwise damaged in the constant loading and unloading that they do. This is their opportunity to sell these pieces at a discount as well as present the very best they have to offer.

The show is inside a 24K sq. ft. building (we bought the old watch factory) so folks can shop, have lunch, stay out of the weather and give back to the community all in one visit. Join with us to support Empty Bowls a hunger-prevention endeavor pairing local potters and local Chefs (Chef Chris Hastings of Hot & Hot Fish Club) who will be providing lunch. For a nominal donation ($25) youll get hot soup and bread served in handmade Earthborn bowls, which you keep as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. Proceeds go to First Light Womens Shelter. There is a modest $2 entry fee we share with First Light also.

Earthborn Studios produces high end chef quality pottery and was seen on Iron Chef America in the Hastings vs. Flay challenge (2012) representing the pottery Chef Chris Hastings uses for his popular Birmingham restaurant, Hot & Hot Fish Club. Again in news, Earthborn sent their pottery to London, England for openings of Duck & Waffle and Sushi Samba Restaurants during the 2012 Olympic Games.
