Named among the Top Ten Events in Alabama for 2013 by Alabama's Vacation Guide & Calendar, Wetumpka's Christmas on the Coosa continues to bring people from all over the state to enjoy Wetumpka's family atmosphere and unique heritage. Thousands of people journey to Wetumpka, Alabama, located 10 miles north of Montgomery, Al on U.S. 21/231. Called the "City of Natural Beauty" Wetumpka is a quaint, historic town nestled along the banks of the Coosa River and is home to the annual Christmas on the Coosa celebration. The event features activities and events for the whole family. The day-long Christmas on the Coosa celebration features a quilt and car show, childrens character breakfast, entertainment for children and a show case for local talent. The annual street parade features over 100 entries and passes along the area for arts & crafts vendors. The evening continues with a boat parade featuring a ski-in by Santa and the ends with a grand fireworks finale.
